Can't add new sims since new update ?

I have oldies that have died taking my sim count down to 30. I want to create a new sim to start a new family in town. It won't allow me to. It says my sim limit has been reached. When I only have 30. I can have babies but not create a new sim to the town.
Can anyone help me with this ... Thanks in advance.

If you have a baby growing in a crib, you will not be able to add any new adults until the stork has arrived.
