How does the pee cleaner work?

This expensive apparatus will diligently clean up "Pee" puddles left by Sims that have "soiled" themselves (normally from not being inspired) or any vomit that may have occurred… you just set this gadget in one of your properties, and when/if a mess happens, it will automatically be released from it's charging station and go clean it up. If you have multiple spoiled spots on the property, it goes back to the charging station after cleaning each time until all spots are cleaned up.

Ah many thanks. I decided to get a few as I don't play as much as I used to between updates, but couldn't get them to do anything. Clearly I was just too impatient. (Then I thought after I posted, that might be how they worked, but wasn't sure in a multi story home if they needed to be on the same level as the pee!)
