Problem with a quest

I have a quest to do a family event with an elder. I got a family event bubble over a senior once, had a playable sim do the event, but never got the credit for completing the quest. What am I missing?

Not sure. What you listed is what I did, and it completed the quest. I ight try one more time, then, if it didn't work again, file a case with Maxis.
