What are these supports? I built a balcony and did not need any supports at all. Maybe mine are held up by magic.

Re: [QUEST] DIY Homes: Lovey-Dovey Balcony
Indeed you don't have to have them. I just found my floating balcony a little unnerving to look at! But it will have to stay floaty because I decided I prefer to have the gardening patch under the balcony. I've only built small balconies though so I'm assuming you don't need them for bigger ones either.

You can even place them wherever you want But they need 4 squarestelemwill wrote:I see! So you don't have to have them. They are an aesthetic touch?ErinPW wrote:There is an extra tab between balcony and balcony-tilestelemwill wrote: ...

Re: [QUEST] DIY Homes: Lovey-Dovey Balcony
Is it the balcony can only be built 4 squares away from the building? Or it can be extended further if there is supporting posts?
Re: [QUEST] DIY Homes: Lovey-Dovey Balcony
The balconies can be built out to three squares past a building. They can take up floor space of a building. If you have to buildings eith 6 squares between them, you vp an join the balcony (3 squares each).bloodcool wrote:Is it the balcony can only be built 4 squares away from the building? Just to be tricky, and this is a hard one to explain, but a balcony only has to be up to 3 squares from a building without being attached. So the balcony can technically be wider(longer) than three squares as long as a building is running parallel to the balcony, no further than three squares away. (Sorry if this is really hard to understand. I'm having a hard time explaining it)
The supports have to have 4 clear squares on the ground below the balcony in order to be attached to the balcony.

Here's a picture to illustrate what Dellie is talking about, and we also have a video on YT which walks through this picture. In short, you can do some crazy things with balconies!

OMG those walkways are super cool! Thank you so much for the video link too <3
I am getting there! I'm on the Weather Machine right now...
I accidentally touched and got what I should have expected to get all along:

Apart from the fact that my keyboard went crazy and I didn't proof-read, the picture makes it much easier to understand.

I've done the patio quest and keep getting the 'Ad' for the balcony quest but where is it? Nothing comes up for me to do.
