The Ancient Goddess only goes to level 25. At level 25 you get two free LPs twice a week. Leveling the Ancient Goddess will give you a chance at up to 50% bonus hobby skill (2% for level 1 - 50% for level 25).
After that you can still trade only you don't get gems but other items (in the tests I did I only got 1 or 2 LP).
The items asked for in the trade were between §250,000-§300,000, SP, common resources, and rare resources.

Here is a sampling: I thought that trading may be a way for us to get some of those rare resources by buying them with LP and keeping them instead of using them for the trade, however, it does not work that way. If you use LP to buy the resources for the trade you can only use them for that trade. I couldn't check this with simoleons and forgot to check for SP but I would assume it works the same way.
*There also isn't a confirmation button and backing out of the trade pop up does not return your LP to you.*

how to get the resources to build Ancient Goddess? my other monuments are done, so i can't find regular resources anymore.

like, it is really hard to get gold, emerald, and ruby. because once i have gold, the trade asks me to trade the gold i have with just another gold!

please help me

Thanks for the info. The bonus hobby skill doesn't seem like much of an incentive as I've never had problems getting to the highest levels, unless they changed the difficulty ratio. Seems like 2 LPs twice a week after all that trading is pretty skimpy. Guess I won't stress over it. I'm not seeing any advantage for Experience points either since I'm already at Level 55.

I'm back to "regular" playing now instead of goal-task oriented.

Still curious about the mysterious big top though. .

Hi, this is a glitch and will be fixed hopefully with the next update but FM have not said exactly when.

What a complete waste of time this quest was. Fm Has ruined this game.
Don't watse your time or resources doing this quest as all they are trying to do is take your hard earned resources for basically nothing. My first trade request demands 500000 simoleans and half my SP and all 30000 of one of my monument resources for a few gems, seriously can they get any more screwed than that!

The pirate avatar doesn't show in my trade windows. The circle shows white...no picture.

I just began the Pirate & His Goddess quest. During the town hall meeting, I assumed that once the host began talking that it would jump to the next step. So do the 5 Sims plus host have to sit for over 12 hours? It looks like they must have to.

ETA: I've read it and now I ask: I haven't completed my monuments so the Gold will go to the old monument or to the Goddess one? :S
