My families are busy cleaning up the restaurant, looks like this is going to take awhile. One of the clean up times is 6 hours and you can't get into the main part of the restaurant till the foyer is cleaned up. I couldn't resist using some LPs to speed things up.

It's even more time-consuming once you get into the restaurant. There's at least one 12 hour task. There are a max of 10 sims allowed to fix at a time.

I've made the article about the restaurant....the time it takes and the huge amount of simoleons to build it....
It's in french... But it can help if you need to know what's next....

I just finished the kitchen in the restaurant. I was told to tap on the bar near the kitchen and then one of my sims is going to be the waiter for ten hours. But I can't find out was he is actually doing after I made him a waiter. He is just standing there in the same clothes he had on when he was cleaning up the stables this afternoon. Am I missing something?
When I tap on a table these sims get their food anyway.

The waiter just stands behind the bar.
You have to make a sim cook some plates in the kitchen.
Then, when you take another sim, you tap on a table in the restaurant, and you will have the action "take a meal" (or something like that....I play in french....so it's something like that).
And if you have some plates ready in the kitchen, you will see the waiter go in the kitchen, take a plate et give it to the sim who is sat at a table, and he will take his meal !
And then, the waiter comes back behind the bar to wait for the next customers....

I had a waiter behind the desk and a few people eating at tables, without plates. Forgot about the coocking part. Now I have someone coocking and the waiter served the plates to the persons who were already having dinner without the plates. Problem solved and it looks much better!

I had a glimpse at your list and have managed to translate it, as I went along with my repair work.
I still need to work on the first floor, but here is the list of tasks I´ve encountered. It could be handy for those about to embark on the Let´s Eat adventure. Truly Enjoyable! Comments and corrections welcome!

* Building The Candlelit Fork Restaurant
(2 days and 18 h and 350 000 simoleons). This is a sample price in a town where all the community places have been built.

* Reparing the Foyer (1h 30 min and 25 000 simoleons)
- Repair broken lamps (2 lamps) : 4h each
- Repair broken tiles : 3h
- Remove broken pieces of wall : 10h
- Repair leaky roof : 6h
- Clean up trash (on the floor): 1h 30 min
- Clean up paint buckets : 2h
- Clean up trash bag 30 min

* Repairing the Dinning Room ( 3 h and 50 000 simoleons)
- Repair broken lamps (4 lamps) : 4h each
- Repair restaurant dinning chairs (8 chairs to repair) : 2h each
- Repair broken Chandelier (2 chandeliers) : 12h each
- Clean Up Restaurant dinning table (2 tables) : 7h each
- Remove broken pieces on wall : 10h
- Repair leaky roof (2 leaks) : 6h each
- Clean up paint buckets (2 bucket sets) : 2h each
- Clean up trash on the floor (2 spots): 1h 30 min each
- Repair broken tiles (5 spots) : 3h each
- Remove cobwebs : 10 min
- Clean up trash bag 30 min

* Repairing the Kitchen (4 h 30 min and 100 000 simoleons)
- Repair leaky roof (2 leaks) : 6h each
- Clean up paint buckets (2 bucket sets) : 2h each
- Clean up trash on the floor (3 spots): 1h 30 min each
- Remove cobwebs : 10 min each
- Repair broken tiles (2 spots) : 3h each
- Repair broken lamp : 4h
- Remove broken pieces on wall (2 walls) : 10h each
- Wash dirty dishes (2 sets): 15 min each

Voilà ! The Kitchen is operational.

- Clean up trash on the floor (2 spots) : 1h30 each
- Repair broken tiles (3 spots) : 3h each
- Remove cobwebs (2 cobwebs) : 10 min each
- Clean up paint buckets (3 bucket sets) : 2h each
- Remove broken pieces of wall : 10h
- Clean Up dirty dishes : 15 min
- Clean up trash bag 30 min

* Roof Bar  (9 h and 250 000 simoleons)
- Clean Up Bar tables (4 tables) :  7h each
- Clean up paint buckets (3 bucket sets) : 2h each
- Repair broken lamps (2 lamps) : 4h each
- Clean up trash on the floor (2 spots) : 1h30 each
- Clean up trash bags (2 bags) : 30 min
- Clean Up dirty dishes : 15 min
- Repair bar chairs (8 chairs to repair) : 2h each.

You are done!

Just to know...
The 2 days 18 hours and 350 000 simoleons are in a City where all buildings are built (it's less if you have still several buildings to do)

And don't Forget the chairs !!!
That's the very important point...
A lot of players are asking about it... They think they have finished but can't unlock next part of the restaurant...
In fact, you have 8 chairs to repair inthe Dinning Room and 8 chairs to repair on the bar on the roof... But there is not "!" on it....so people don't see it....
You should add it to your list

On a different chapter, I have noticed that my Sims repaired a couple of Chandeliers on the ground floor and they are currently repairing one for the first floor, but they are nowhere to be seen in the repaired view of my Candlelit Fork Restaurant. Any ideas on where did they go? Thanks again!

Yes, you are right ! I didn't notice it....
No chandelier in the restaurant...

With a 12 hour repairing, we should at least see it !
