Only have two favorites right now: Pixel People and Hay Day on my Iphone. For my other device, a Kindle, I haven't found anything yet.

I like it because you can pick it up and set it down and complete the puzzle you match numbers I used to play also sudoku. I tried heyday but I just couldn't get into it I used also play pocket frogs

Seeds Pro has tons of user submitted seeds for creating Minecraft worlds, and Guidecraft has mainly instructions for creating Minecraft furniture etc. within your world. I go back and forth between SFP and MCPE. Once Sims has an update, I play until I get bored with it, then Minecraft has an update so I play with that game, then Sims has another update, and so forth!
So does MCPE have any goals or is it more just free style play like the PC edition? My son plays Minecraft (and gets all the seeds, etc via download) also he plays on Xbox, but he doesn't like the MCPE.

MCPE still has a very small world (256x256 blocks), so I can imagine he doesn't like it for that reason. Also the crafting and movement is quite different. I don't know when they plan to release the 0.9.x of MCPE, they did promise world generation like on PC (which is limited by the size of the storage space).

I like it on PC (mostly because of the map mods). The only thing I don't like is the speed of updates, they cause the need for changes on the server side, which -if you like certain mods/features- lags behind. For example, the current version is 1.7.9, the last stable server version is 1.7.2 (and most mods are now 1.7.2).

Seeds don't need downloading (at least for PC or MCPE), you just type in the code for that world and it's generated the same. I suspect he exchanges built worlds, you do need to download those.

I thought about trying out Second Life, but with my OCD personality I'm afraid I'd get too sucked in. Also I work on a computer all day so I don't like computer games any more. If I can't play on my iPad I won't play it.

Do any of y'all remember the King's Quest games for PC? I used to LOVE those. I also played a game called Creatures which was so cute. YEARS ago.

I either play SFP or 2048 right now.

OMG yes, King's Quest!

Creatures started just before Sims 1. I have all three. They (or another company) are working on a new portable version!!! I've got to have that one too! See: http://creatures-online.co.uk/
It was almost as addictive as Sims, just in a different way.

Perturbee wrote: To clarify, it's not a game. You steer your avatar much like the main character in a 3rd person view game.
It's simply a virtual world to socialize in, or create an alternative life as a human, orc, elf, whatever tickles your fancy.
There's not a one-off upfront fee, but lots of shops inside this virtual world are owned by residents.
Homes can be rented for a recurring fee (both through Linden Labs and private landlords).

Unless you are some sort of creator and marketeer (and manage to generate income), it's very expensive.
The learning curve is steep!
I read a story where a woman "fell in love" with another character and left her husband, moved across the country to be with "him" only to find out it was some woman just pretending to be a man. very bizarre. I went online for about 5 minutes and just the way they dressed and talked really turned me off. There was something inherently evil about it. A couple people asked me if I was a vampire. I know there is a popularization of vampires because of all the movies and books there have been, but to role play about one just creeps me out.

I tried downloading a version of Kings Quest but it wasn't the same the second time. I'll have to check out Creatures again. If they'd make it mobile that would be awesome!! I'll have to see if the Mac version works. I've found that some games say they're compatible with Mac but then actually don't work (Such as Spore)

Oh back to Minecraft my son also downloads a bunch of "mods" for our Mac. I have always been a PC person and I got a Mac to let the kids play on and have less worry about viruses, but I had to really learn when he got into Minecraft because of the mods and how you have to install them. Now he knows how to do it all himself. I was impressed by how much he learned at 10/11 about installing them. He plays with his friends. Sometimes a friend will come over with a laptop and they play together in the same room. I'm not creative that way so the sandbox games don't hold my attention. Even with SFP I don't really build my own houses; I just use the ones that are pre-built. I do dress the sims some, but not that much. I like the goals and tasks the best. I guess that's why trying to earn the orbs (even with the death) doesn't bother me quite so much as others. I'm just very task driven so I'm toiling away. But, I have everyone working on LG and a lot of them take so long that I end up having hours of time without being able to play with any of my Sims. . . so always looking for something simple to fill the gap. (or I could actually do something productive like clean my house)
